I did it!

Well, I decided to take the plunge and join the online crafting world. I’m excited since I’ve been so inspired by people’s blogs and pictures. I’ve been sewing since my grandmother taught me as a little kid, but am rediscovering how much fun it to create things as an adult.

I’ve been working on a baby quilt that I was originally going to make for my cousin, but she and her husband are expecting a boy, so I guess this one will be for someone else. I’ve made a quilt before, but this is my first attempt at a larger number of prints and it’s going to be my first go at free-motion quilting (wish me luck!). I still need to get a free-motion presser foot for my sewing machine (they were sold out this weekend), but then I’ll be set to go.

The pattern is Oh Fransson’s Modern Baby Quilt. I’m still not entirely sure I made the right color choices, but for a first attempt, I’m pretty pleased. I have no idea what to do about the binding, I could go with a pink or green, or something like brown. Any thoughts?
