Jon started doing the lights this way when he got his first Christmas tree 4 years ago. It's a little unconventional, but I fell in love the effect. There are colored lights wrapping the inside of the tree and then white lights towards the outside. It gives the effect of color throughout the whole tree and makes the bright ornaments easy to see.

ReplyDeleteI like the lights idea. Sadly the trees we get a the tree-cutting area we go to aren't this full so the effect would be lost. My daughter was quite upset when I took our tree down on the weekend. Then she got excited at the thought of burning it in a bonfire (another tradition), but we forgot that Scouts were picking up trees the next day wehn we left it on the front step. How could we say know when they asked for a donation?
