In Chicago, my friend lived across the street from an elementary school with the coolest fence and doors.
Remember this quilt? The little guy who I made it for was born two weeks before my visit so we drove up to Madison from Chicago and got to see him.
Finally, I went to the Minnesota State Fair, which I love in all of its ridiculous glory. You can get amazing food (almost all fried and/or on a stick), see animals, play games at the Midway and see girls having their likeness carved out of butter. I mean really, what's not to love?!
Here are some highlights. I took pictures from the quilt show, but honestly, I was a little let down since most everything was really traditional and fairly conservative in style.
I really liked how from a distance this looks like waves and then upclose, you can see there aren't any curves at all!

After buying a bucket full of cookies, we headed straight for the milk booth where you can drink an unlimited amount of white or chocolate milk for $1!

ReplyDeletethe fair looks like such great fun!! and such a sweet little baby that you got to spend a little time with. That school looks like it must be an amazing and fun place for children...that door alone is enough to draw you in
ReplyDeleteHey, Kris, you drove right past my house! I live between Chicago and Madison, just off the interstate. I waved.
